Work Exchange in Australia - Just Take One Big Step
How to have fun and enrich yourself during your vacation? Work Exchange is your best choice!
Hello everyone, I'm Rueyruey. I haven't updated for a long time. I would like to use my spare time to share with you that I went to Hawthorne in Brisbane for work exchange in early and mid-December this year. I actually pursue completing the items on my own list. Whenever I feel inspired, I'll edit it and make a record of it, and I'll also make adjustments. A friend talked to me that life is very long, and things may be the same, but if you have the opportunity to try things you usually don't or rarely do, every cloud has a silver lining, igniting hope. I don't know if you know this, but when you reach a certain age, you feel like you can only do specific kinds of things, and you lose the ability to try new things and get in touch with new people and things. I started to feel a little bit like this when I came to Australia in July this year. I'm not sure if it's because last year's Covid affected me who originally loved to walk around. Even if it gets better or I can go out again, I would've been restricted some actions by the unstable Covid. I thought about it was my first time to come to a country in the southern hemisphere. I hadn't been abroad for more than two years, so I should be full of freshness, but it didn't happen?! Especially discussing this part with my friends reminded me of the feeling I had when I arrived at Brisbane Airport. I made a list last year. Originally, most of them were to be completed in Taiwan, but due to various reasons, some may have to be completed in Australia. Happily, I've completed two items on my list in just over five months of living in Australia. One is to take dance classes, and the other is to have a work exchange. It's more difficult for me to experience a work exchange because I have to go to relevant websites to check and filter the fields and places I want to try. So I searched for a while, and I also asked my family to give me some advice. Ultimately, I finally got the qualification to have a work exchange! Next, I would like to briefly talk about my process of finding a work exchange. I'll explain it step by step:
1) I searched on the Internet and read lots of related articles, recommendations from netizens and consultants, and chose Workaway to inquire about work exchange.
2) After selecting the plan, paying and following the major and minor procedures the website requires members to complete, you can choose the work exchange you want. (Remember to consider the time, location and distance carefully!!!)
3) Send the information to the employer in a similar way to submitting a resume. If the employer responds, please remember to stay in touch with them, otherwise it'll be easy to miss it!
4) After discussing with the employer, you can go to have a work exchange!!!
PS. I was pretty lucky. I applied for two work exchanges, and both employers responded and said that I met their qualifications. However, when I confirmed some matters with one of the employers, the other employer had read and not replied the message for a long time, so I decided to have a work exchange with another employer without hesitation.
Lots of moments, when my friends ask me if I have any plans for the holidays, I usually don't express certainly about something, and there is a high chance that I'll tell what I can do. Not sure when it will be done, but it will be soon. I would like to share with you I personally think vacation isn't just about playing, it's to have fun and study at the same time. This way you won't have vacation syndrome and the feeling of not being able to connect when you start a new semester. I wish everyone, no matter what your current status is, to do your best to complete your duties. Don't forget to plan your own vacation when there is a vacation, and relax with friends and family! You can also utilise the vacation to draw up a list, and the time to complete things well, and have an enriching life! You'll have a sense of accomplishment!
